Jacqueline Egli, M. Ed
Director, Learning Disabilities Specialist

Jacqueline Egli is a special education teacher and principal with over 40 years experience in teaching students with specific learning disabilities. She worked in private and public school settings in the Central Florida area and served on the board of the Florida State Advisory Council for Special Education, the Florida Learning Disabilities Association and the Florida Dyslexia Association. In Fall of 2003 she and her late husband launched their own private school, Bridges Academy in Winter Springs, FL and provided specialized instruction to students with learning disabilities for 11 years before relocating to Murphy NC to retire. Jacky started volunteering at the local elementary school and then joined the Cherokee County Public school system as a teacher working at Murphy Elementary School and Ranger Elementary Schools for 2 and half years. She elected to retire, AGAIN, in December of 2019 but retirement did not last long!

Ms. Egli really missed working with students and wanted to offer a resource to the families in the community and opened the Bridges to Learning Tutoring Center here in Murphy in spring of 2021. Ms. Egli is an active member of Rotary and is the chairperson for Youth Services, including the Rotary Reads Event and the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy for the local Rotary Club of Murphy.

The Reading Brain and Fast ForWord® Program

Learning to read is a complex process for many learners. Students who struggle to learn to read may require a specialized, adaptive product to help them acquire this important and fundamental skill required for all learning.

To learn more about the Reading Brain and how the Fast ForWord® program provides individualized intervention, please schedule a parent consultation at the center.

Fast ForWord® is now part of Carnegie Learning.
